Jacqueline van Maarsen (1929) was a professional bookbinder. She published My name is Anne, she said, Anne Frank in 2003, which NRC called 'a beautiful, modest retelling of a life'. The book became an international success, being translated into six languages. A year later, she wrote a book about the myths formed around Anne Frank after the war, which was likewise translated widely. In 2012, she was awarded the renowned ‘Zilveren Griffel’ for the young adult edition of My Name is Anne, she said, Anne Frank.
