Eric Schneider (Batavia, 1934 - The Hague, 2022) was an actor, director, playwright and artist. Born in the Dutch Indies, his family emigrated to the Netherlands in 1946. His older brother Carel would later become a famous Dutch author under the pseudonym F. Springer. Eric Schneider played 165 roles and became the eminence gris of the Dutch theatre. In 2013 he took the stage with his son Beau and in 2014, the play Moesson based on the story of A Tropical Memory, went on to premiere.
