Dato Turashvili (Tbilisi, 1966) was one of the leaders of the 1989 student protest in Georgia against the Russian oppressor. He wrote plays, travel stories, stories, film scripts and novels. The play Jeans Generation, based on Flight From the USSR, premiered in 2001 and is the most successful play in Georgia.
